The adoption of plant-based foods and materials is pivotal from the standpoint of nutrition, food security, ethical living, and sustainability.
This must be coupled with raising awareness of the rich diversity of Indian foods and nutrition. Various challenges, such as a lack of innovation, insufficient investment in technology, high subsidies for animal-based alternatives, incorrect nomenclature, and market positioning, need to be addressed to build a strong ecosystem for the industry. We need multiple stakeholders to evangelize this shift.
